Peer Review Procces

JTL : Journal of Teaching and Learning employs a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the manuscripts published. Below is an outline of the peer review process followed by JTL:

  1. Initial Submission and Editorial Screening

    • All manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial team to ensure they meet the journal's focus, scope, and formatting guidelines.
    • Submissions that do not adhere to the guidelines or fall outside the journal's scope are desk-rejected at this stage.
  2. Plagiarism Check

    • Each manuscript is subjected to a plagiarism detection process to verify the originality of the content. Manuscripts with significant overlap with other works may be rejected.
  3. Assignment to Reviewers

    • Manuscripts that pass the editorial screening are sent to at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
    • The double-blind process ensures that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.
  4. Review Process

    • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on criteria such as originality, methodology, clarity, academic significance, and adherence to ethical standards.
    • Reviewers provide constructive feedback and recommendations: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject.
  5. Editorial Decision

    • The editorial team considers the reviewers’ feedback and makes one of the following decisions:
      • Accept: The manuscript is accepted as submitted or with minor changes.
      • Revisions Required: The authors are required to address minor or major issues before the manuscript can be accepted.
      • Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication.
  6. Revisions

    • Authors are given a specific timeframe to address reviewers' comments and revise their manuscript.
    • Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the original reviewers to ensure all issues have been adequately addressed.
  7. Final Decision

    • Once all revisions are satisfactory, the editor makes the final decision on acceptance.
    • Accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication in the next available issue.
  8. Proofreading and Publication

    • Accepted manuscripts undergo final proofreading to ensure formatting consistency and accuracy.
    • The manuscript is published online as part of an open-access policy.

This structured process ensures that all publications meet high academic and ethical standards, contributing to the journal’s credibility and impact.
