Plagiarism Screening

The International Journal of Economics and Development (IJED) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before entering the peer-review process.

IJED uses reliable plagiarism detection software to identify textual similarity and ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts. Similarity reports are evaluated carefully by the editorial team, with particular attention given to the nature and source of matched content rather than relying solely on the overall similarity percentage.

Manuscripts containing evidence of plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, or other forms of academic misconduct will be rejected immediately or returned to the authors for clarification or revision, in accordance with the journal's publication ethics.

Authors are expected to ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • All sources are properly cited and referenced.
  • Direct quotations are appropriately indicated.
  • Any reused material has obtained the necessary permissions where applicable.

As a general guideline, manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references, quotations, bibliography, and commonly used methodological expressions) may be returned for revision or rejected at the discretion of the editorial board.

The editorial team follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines when handling suspected plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct.
