Peer Review Procces

All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Economics and Development (IJED) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance.

This process is designed to maintain high scholarly standards and to provide authors with constructive feedback for improving their work.

1. Initial Screening

Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial evaluation to assess the manuscript’s:

  • Compliance with the journal’s focus and scope

  • Adherence to author guidelines

  • Language quality and formatting

  • Originality (checked using plagiarism detection software)

Manuscripts that fail to meet basic requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without external review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to two or more anonymous reviewers, who are experts in the relevant field. The reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and the authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field

  • Clarity of research objectives and methodology

  • Validity and reliability of data and analysis

  • Relevance and significance of findings

  • Quality of writing and structure

  • Proper use of references and citations

3. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial board will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

  • Reject

Authors will receive detailed feedback and are expected to respond to reviewer comments in a timely and professional manner.

4. Revision and Final Decision

If revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a response letter explaining how each comment was addressed. The revised submission may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers or the editor.

Final acceptance is contingent upon satisfactory revisions and the editor’s final approval.

5. Publication

Once accepted, manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout formatting, and final proofreading before online publication.

The peer review process typically takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript. IJED is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and ethical standards throughout the review process.
