Publication Ethics
The International Journal of Economics and Development (IJED) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal adheres to the ethical guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher — to adhere to ethical principles and professional conduct.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere. Proper citation of sources and acknowledgment of contributions is required. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.
-
Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
-
Data Transparency: Authors should provide accurate and verifiable data. Fabrication or falsification of data is strictly prohibited.
-
Authorship: Only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.
-
Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
-
Fair and Unbiased Evaluation: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely based on academic merit, relevance, and originality, regardless of the author’s race, gender, institutional affiliation, or nationality.
-
Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not disclose information to anyone other than those involved in the editorial process.
-
Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.
-
Editorial Decisions: Editors are responsible for making final decisions on the publication of submitted manuscripts, based on reviewer recommendations and ethical considerations.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
-
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share them with others.
-
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with clear, constructive, and unbiased feedback.
-
Timeliness: Reviewers must complete their evaluations within the agreed timeline or inform the editor if a delay is expected.
-
Disclosure: Reviewers should disclose any potential conflict of interest before agreeing to review a manuscript.
4. Handling of Misconduct
IJED takes allegations of research misconduct, plagiarism, and ethical violations seriously. If misconduct is suspected, the editorial board will investigate in accordance with COPE guidelines and may take appropriate actions, including retraction, correction, or reporting to relevant authorities.
5. Retraction and Correction Policy
IJED may retract published articles when there is clear evidence of misconduct, such as plagiarism, data falsification, or unethical research. Corrections will be issued if minor errors are found that do not compromise the validity of the research.
