Peer Review Procces
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Law, Policy and Global Development (JLPGD) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic integrity, originality, and scholarly relevance. The identities of both reviewers and authors are concealed throughout the review process to promote objectivity and eliminate potential bias.
Review Procedure:
-
Initial Screening (Editorial Review):
Upon submission, each manuscript is evaluated by the editorial team to ensure it falls within the journal’s scope and meets the minimum quality requirements (language, structure, referencing). Manuscripts that do not comply with the submission guidelines or are outside the journal's scope may be returned to the author without further review. -
Plagiarism Check:
All submissions are checked for plagiarism using reliable detection tools (such as Turnitin or iThenticate). Manuscripts containing more than 20% similarity (excluding references and quoted materials) may be rejected or returned for revision. -
Assignment to Reviewers:
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers are selected based on their academic background, subject relevance, and absence of conflict of interest. -
Double-Blind Review:
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodology, theoretical contribution, relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, clarity of presentation, and validity of conclusions. Each reviewer provides constructive feedback and recommends one of the following decisions:-
Accept
-
Minor Revisions
-
Major Revisions
-
Reject

-
Editorial Decision:
Based on reviewers' reports, the editorial board makes the final decision. Authors are notified promptly and provided with the reviewers’ anonymized comments for revision if applicable. -
Revision and Re-evaluation:
If revisions are required, authors must resubmit their revised manuscripts within the indicated timeline. The revised version may be re-reviewed by the same reviewers, especially in the case of major revisions. -
Final Acceptance and Publication:
Once accepted, manuscripts proceed to the production stage, including copyediting, layout formatting, and proofreading before final publication in the journal’s scheduled issue.
