Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Law, Policy and Global Development (JLPGD) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. To ensure the originality of all submitted manuscripts, JLPGD implements a strict plagiarism screening policy as part of its editorial and review process.
Screening Procedure
All manuscripts submitted to JLPGD are subjected to plagiarism detection using reputable and professional software tools such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or other equivalent platforms. The screening is conducted prior to the peer review process.
Policy on Similarity Index
-
Manuscripts showing more than 20% similarity (excluding references, properly quoted material, and commonly used phrases) may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright, depending on the severity and nature of the duplication.
-
Manuscripts with suspected self-plagiarism, redundant publication, or text recycling will also be reviewed carefully and may be rejected.
-
Proper citation and quotation of sources are mandatory. Any failure to acknowledge sources will be treated as academic misconduct.
Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected after publication, the editorial board reserves the right to:
-
Retract the article
-
Inform the author’s institution
-
Blacklist the author(s) from future submissions
JLPGD follows the ethical principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in dealing with plagiarism cases.
Author Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that their manuscripts are free of any form of plagiarism. Authors are strongly encouraged to check their work using plagiarism detection tools before submission.
