Peer Review Procces

JPKM: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat implements a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published articles. The process is designed to maintain transparency, fairness, and high academic standards.

Submission and Initial Screening

  1. Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the online journal system.
  2. Initial Screening: The editorial team evaluates submissions for suitability, scope alignment, and compliance with author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.

Plagiarism Check

All submissions undergo a plagiarism screening using appropriate detection tools. Manuscripts with high similarity scores or indications of unethical practices are immediately rejected.

Double-Blind Review

  1. Assignment to Reviewers: Suitable manuscripts are assigned to two or more independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
  2. Anonymity: The journal employs a double-blind review process, where both reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other.

Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance and originality of the topic.
  • Clarity of objectives and methodology.
  • Significance of the findings.
  • Coherence of arguments and conclusions.
  • Proper citation and adherence to ethical research standards.

Reviewer Recommendations

Based on their evaluation, reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept: The manuscript is suitable for publication with minimal or no revisions.
  • Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor adjustments before publication.
  • Major Revisions: Significant changes are needed, and the revised manuscript will undergo another round of review.
  • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards for publication.

Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewer feedback and the journal's editorial policies. Authors are notified of the decision, along with reviewers' comments and suggested revisions.

Revision Process

  1. Minor Revisions: Authors are given a short timeframe to address reviewers' comments.
  2. Major Revisions: Authors may need additional time for significant changes. The revised manuscript will be resubmitted for further evaluation.

Final Approval

After revisions are completed, the editorial team conducts a final review to ensure the manuscript meets all requirements. Accepted articles are queued for publication in the next available issue.

Turnaround Time

The peer review process typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of revisions.

Ethical Considerations

The journal adheres to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to ensure fairness and integrity throughout the peer review process.
