Plagiarism Policy

JPKM: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat upholds high standards of academic integrity and does not tolerate any form of plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are rigorously checked for originality to ensure the authenticity of the content and maintain the quality of the journal.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Direct Plagiarism: Copying another author's work, word-for-word, without proper citation.
  2. Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one's own previously published work or parts of it without proper acknowledgment.
  3. Paraphrasing Plagiarism: Rewriting another person's ideas or findings without proper attribution.
  4. Mosaic Plagiarism: Patching together phrases, ideas, or text from various sources without proper citation.

Plagiarism Detection Process

  1. Initial Screening:
    All manuscripts submitted to JPKM are screened for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin or equivalent.

  2. Threshold for Similarity Index:

    • Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or less (excluding references) are considered acceptable.
    • If the similarity index exceeds this threshold, the editorial team will notify the author for revision.
  3. Revised Manuscripts:
    Authors are required to address identified plagiarism issues and resubmit their work for further evaluation.

Consequences of Plagiarism

  1. If plagiarism is detected during the review process, the manuscript will be returned to the author for correction or rejected outright.
  2. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted, and a public notice of retraction will be issued.

Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Ensure the submitted work is original and properly cites all sources.
  2. Obtain proper permissions for any reproduced material.
  3. Acknowledge the contributions of others in the research and writing process.

Responsibilities of Reviewers and Editors

  1. Reviewers are encouraged to report any suspected plagiarism during the peer-review process.
  2. The editorial team will handle plagiarism issues transparently and fairly, following ethical guidelines.
