Archiving Policy

MUNIF: International Journal of Religion Moderation is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of all published scholarly content. To achieve this, MUNIF implements a robust digital archiving policy using multiple systems to safeguard articles permanently.

1. Digital Preservation

All articles published in MUNIF are digitally preserved using reliable archiving systems to ensure that published content remains accessible, citable, and usable for future researchers, educators, and policymakers.

2. LOCKSS and CLOCKSS

MUNIF utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) systems to guarantee long-term preservation of its published content:

  • LOCKSS ensures that multiple copies of journal content are stored across a network of participating libraries worldwide.

  • CLOCKSS provides additional preservation by archiving content in a secure and controlled environment, ensuring accessibility even if the journal is no longer published in the future.

3. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

MUNIF participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to preserve all published articles within the Public Knowledge Project framework. Through PKP PN:

  • Articles are safely stored and distributed across multiple repositories.

  • Readers, authors, and libraries are guaranteed permanent access to the full content of all published issues.

4. Indexing and CrossRef DOI Registration

To enhance discoverability and archiving reliability, all published articles in MUNIF are:

  • Registered with CrossRef and assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure persistent linking and stable citation.

  • Indexed in various international databases to broaden the reach and ensure consistent accessibility.

5. Self-Archiving Policy

MUNIF adopts a green open access policy, allowing authors to:

  • Deposit the submitted version (pre-print), accepted version (post-review), and published version of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, or on personal websites.

  • Proper attribution to the original source and inclusion of the DOI link are required when self-archiving.

6. Accessibility Guarantee

All published content in MUNIF is available free of charge to the global academic community under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This ensures:

  • Unrestricted reading and downloading of articles.

  • Worldwide availability without subscription or registration fees.

  • Maximum visibility and long-term usability of scholarly works.

7. Compliance with International Standards

MUNIF’s archiving policy complies with international best practices recommended by:

  • CrossRef for DOI registration and linking

  • OAI-PMH for metadata harvesting, ensuring interoperability with global databases.
