Withdrawal of Manuscript

MUNIF: International Journal of Religion Moderation highly values the integrity of the academic publication process. Therefore, the withdrawal of a manuscript after it has been submitted is considered a serious matter and is strongly discouraged once the peer review process has begun.

Authors are advised to carefully evaluate their manuscripts before submission to avoid unnecessary withdrawal requests.

Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript before the peer review process starts without penalty. The request must be submitted in writing to the editorial office via the official email: editormunif@gmail.com.

In such cases, authors must provide:

  • The title of the manuscript

  • The name(s) of the author(s)

  • The reason for withdrawal

The editorial office will confirm the withdrawal via email.

Withdrawal During Peer Review

If authors request to withdraw their manuscript after the peer review process has started, they must provide a valid and ethical reason for the withdrawal. Approval is at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.

Improper or repeated withdrawals without strong justification may result in:

  • A formal blacklisting of the author(s) for a certain period.

  • Notification of the author’s affiliated institution if deemed necessary.

Withdrawal After Acceptance

Withdrawal requests after a manuscript has been accepted are not encouraged and are generally not permitted, except under the following circumstances:

  • Discovery of serious errors or flaws in the data that invalidate the conclusions.

  • Ethical issues such as duplicate submission, copyright concerns, or authorship disputes.

Authors must provide a written statement explaining the reason for withdrawal, signed by all co-authors.

Withdrawal After Online Publication

If an author requests withdrawal after online publication, the editorial team will evaluate the situation carefully.

  • If the request is due to an ethical issue, the article may be formally retracted.

  • A Retraction Notice will be published to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

  • Retracted articles remain visible in the archive but are clearly marked as “Retracted”.

Editorial Rights

The editorial board reserves the right to decline withdrawal requests in cases where unethical practices are suspected, including but not limited to:

  • Simultaneous submissions to multiple journals.

  • Attempting to submit to a higher-impact journal after acceptance in MUNIF.

  • Withdrawal without valid reason after consuming editorial and reviewer resources.
