MUNIF: International Journal of Religion Moderation is committed to ensuring the global visibility, discoverability, and accessibility of all published scholarly works. To achieve this, MUNIF actively seeks inclusion in reputable indexing and abstracting databases to enhance the journal’s impact and reach within the international academic community.

1. Importance of Indexing

Indexing and abstracting serve a crucial role in academic publishing by:

  • Enhancing Visibility — Making published articles more accessible to a global readership.

  • Increasing Citations — Improving the discoverability of research to boost academic impact.

  • Strengthening Credibility — Demonstrating the journal’s adherence to high scholarly standards.

  • Ensuring Long-Term Access — Guaranteeing the preservation of academic work across multiple databases.

2. Current Indexing and Abstracting Services

MUNIF is currently indexed and abstracted in the following platforms:

  • Google Scholar – Ensuring visibility and discoverability of articles through the largest academic search engine.

  • CrossRef – Each article receives a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for persistent linking and reliable citation.

  • Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital) – Registered in Indonesia’s national academic repository.

  • Dimensions – Enhancing research visibility and citation tracking globally.

  • Scilit – Supporting wide academic dissemination and open access integration.

  • BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine) – Improving visibility within open-access databases.

3. Indexing in Progress

MUNIF is in the process of applying for inclusion in several major international indexing databases, including:

  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) (planned)

  • EBSCOhost (planned)

  • ProQuest (planned)

  • OpenAIRE (planned)

4. Future Targeted Indexing

As part of its internationalization strategy, MUNIF is preparing for submission to high-impact global indexing databases:

  • Scopus (planned submission)

  • Web of Science (WoS) (planned submission)

To meet the standards required for these platforms, MUNIF continually improves the quality of publications, peer-review processes, and editorial policies in alignment with COPE, DOAJ, and Scopus guidelines.

5. Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Registration

All articles published in MUNIF are assigned a unique DOI through CrossRef, ensuring:

  • Permanent online access to published content.

  • Reliable citations across academic databases.

  • Improved integration with international indexing systems.

6. Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH)

MUNIF supports Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) to facilitate seamless metadata harvesting by indexing services, institutional repositories, and library systems worldwide.
This ensures broader discoverability of published works.

7. Commitment to Open Access Visibility

MUNIF adheres to the principles of open science and open access publishing under the
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
All published articles are freely accessible and permanently available to the global scholarly community.
