Publication Ethics Statement

MUNIF: International Journal of Religion Moderation is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring the integrity of all published works. The journal adheres strictly to the ethical guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), fostering a culture of honesty, transparency, fairness, and accountability among authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers.

The following ethical responsibilities apply to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Duties of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to MUNIF are expected to:

  • Originality and Plagiarism
    Submit only original works that have not been published elsewhere or are under consideration by another journal.
    All manuscripts are checked using Turnitin or equivalent plagiarism detection software, and a maximum similarity index of 20% is allowed.

  • Accurate Reporting
    Present research results honestly, accurately, and transparently without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources
    Properly acknowledge all sources of data, ideas, and references. Authors must ensure proper citation using APA 7th Edition or the journal's required style.

  • Authorship and Contribution
    All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.
    Changes to authorship after submission require approval from all listed authors and the editor.

  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
    Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their work.

  • Data Transparency
    Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to make data publicly available when requested.

2. Duties of Editors

The Editor-in-Chief and the editorial team are responsible for:

  • Fair and Impartial Decisions
    Decisions on manuscript acceptance or rejection are based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • Confidentiality
    Editors must maintain strict confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and must not share information with anyone outside the editorial process.

  • Managing Conflicts of Interest
    Editors must refrain from handling manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest and assign them to another qualified editor.

  • Ensuring Ethical Compliance
    Editors ensure that all published content adheres to COPE ethical standards and take appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct.

3. Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of publications and are expected to:

  • Confidentiality
    Treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and refrain from sharing them with unauthorized parties.

  • Objectivity and Constructive Feedback
    Provide objective, balanced, and constructive evaluations to improve the quality of the manuscript.

  • Timeliness
    Complete reviews within the agreed timeline. If unable to meet the deadline, reviewers should promptly notify the editor.

  • Conflict of Interest
    Disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline the review if necessary to ensure fairness.

  • Identification of Ethical Issues
    Report any concerns regarding plagiarism, data falsification, duplicate publication, or unethical practices.

4. Duties of the Publisher

As-Salafiyah Publishing ensures:

  • Editorial Independence
    The publisher respects the academic freedom of editors and authors, ensuring decisions are free from external influence.

  • Ethical Oversight
    In cases of alleged misconduct, the publisher collaborates with the editorial team to investigate, correct, or retract articles as necessary.

5. Handling Misconduct

In cases of ethical misconduct such as plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate submissions, or fraudulent authorship, the following actions will be taken:

  • Immediate investigation by the editorial board.

  • Communication with the corresponding author for clarification.

  • Possible rejection or retraction of the manuscript.

  • Notification to relevant institutions if necessary.

All actions are taken in accordance with COPE guidelines.

6. Compliance with COPE Guidelines

MUNIF fully adopts the COPE Code of Conduct and adheres to internationally recognized best practices for ethical scholarly publishing.
