Manuscript Types
JMPI: Jurnal Manajemen, Pendidikan dan Pemikiran Islam welcomes original scholarly contributions that advance theoretical understanding, empirical knowledge, and practical applications in management, education, Islamic studies, law, economics, philosophy, and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal publishes manuscripts that demonstrate academic rigor, methodological transparency, originality, and relevance to contemporary scholarly and societal challenges.
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:
1. Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles report the findings of empirical investigations using appropriate qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches. Manuscripts should present a clear research problem, relevant theoretical foundations, a transparent methodology, systematic data analysis, and findings that contribute meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge.
Topics may include educational management, organizational leadership, school and madrasah governance, Islamic education, pesantren studies, Islamic law, Sharia economics, organizational behavior, public management, and interdisciplinary research.
2. Review Articles
Review Articles critically examine, synthesize, and evaluate existing scholarly literature on a specific topic. JMPI welcomes systematic literature reviews, scoping reviews, integrative reviews, and other rigorous forms of evidence synthesis.
Authors should clearly explain their search strategies, data sources, inclusion and exclusion criteria, analytical procedures, and synthesis methods, as appropriate to the review design. Authors conducting systematic reviews are encouraged to follow the PRISMA 2020 reporting guidelines, where applicable.
A review article must provide meaningful theoretical, methodological, or practical insights rather than merely summarize previously published studies.
3. Conceptual and Theoretical Articles
Conceptual and Theoretical Articles develop, refine, or critically evaluate theories, conceptual frameworks, models, or propositions relevant to the journal's scope. These manuscripts should demonstrate a clear theoretical rationale, engagement with relevant literature, logical argumentation, and a distinct contribution to scholarly understanding.
Articles may address leadership theories, educational management models, Islamic educational philosophy, Islamic legal thought, governance frameworks, organizational development, and contemporary interpretations of Islamic intellectual traditions.
4. Case Study Articles
Case Study Articles provide an in-depth examination of a specific institution, organization, community, policy, program, or social phenomenon. Studies may employ qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches, provided that the research design is appropriate to the research questions.
Manuscripts should explain the case selection, research context, data collection procedures, analytical approach, and implications of the findings. Authors must address relevant ethical considerations, including informed consent, confidentiality, and the protection of participants where applicable.
5. Policy Analysis and Practice-Oriented Articles
Policy Analysis and Practice-Oriented Articles examine public policies, institutional strategies, governance practices, educational reforms, management interventions, or regulatory developments within the journal's scope.
Manuscripts should identify a significant policy or practical problem, analyze relevant evidence and institutional or regulatory contexts, and present clear, well-supported recommendations. Contributions should demonstrate analytical depth and relevance to policymakers, institutional leaders, educators, researchers, and practitioners.
6. Short Communications
Short Communications present concise but significant scholarly findings, preliminary research results, methodological innovations, or focused analyses that warrant academic discussion.
These manuscripts must demonstrate originality, sufficient methodological or analytical rigor, and a clear contribution to the journal's scope. They should not be used as a substitute for a complete research article when the findings require extensive analysis.
