Focus and Scope

JMPI: Jurnal Manajemen, Pendidikan dan Pemikiran Islam is a peer-reviewed academic journal published twice a year, in June and November. The journal is dedicated to disseminating high-quality scholarly articles derived from original research, literature reviews, and critical academic thought in the fields of management, education, Islamic studies, law, and Islamic intellectual traditions. JMPI provides a platform for scholars, researchers, academics, and practitioners to contribute to the advancement of interdisciplinary knowledge and the development of Islamic scholarship in contemporary society.

Scope and Focus

The journal accepts original research articles, review articles, and short communications on topics including, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Management in General: Management theories, organizational behavior, leadership, strategic management, human resource management, organizational development, and innovation.

  • Management of Education: Educational leadership, school and madrasah management, educational planning, quality assurance, educational policy, and institutional development.

  • Education in General: Educational theories, learning practices, curriculum development, instructional innovation, educational assessment, educational technology, and teacher professional development.

  • Islamic Education: Islamic educational philosophy, Islamic pedagogy, pesantren and madrasah education, Islamic educational institutions, and the integration of Islamic values into educational practices.

  • Islamic Law (Fiqh and Sharia Studies): Islamic jurisprudence, contemporary fiqh, usul al-fiqh, maqasid al-shariah, ijtihad, and the application of Islamic legal principles in contemporary contexts.

  • Islamic Family Law: Marriage, divorce, inheritance, guardianship, family rights and responsibilities, child protection, family welfare, and the development of Islamic family law in Muslim societies.

  • Islamic Economic Law and Sharia Business Law: Sharia economic transactions, Islamic banking and finance, Islamic insurance (takaful), zakat, waqf, halal business, Islamic commercial contracts, dispute resolution, and the regulation of sharia-compliant economic activities.

  • Islamic Constitutional and Civil Law: Islamic legal thought in relation to constitutional systems, civil law, human rights, legal pluralism, legislation, and the relationship between Islamic law and national legal systems.

  • Islamic Criminal Law: Classical and contemporary perspectives on Islamic criminal jurisprudence, legal principles, and the application of Islamic criminal law in relevant social and legal contexts.

  • Islamic Studies: Islamic history, civilization, culture, Qur’anic studies, hadith studies, and contemporary Muslim societies.

  • Theology and Kalam: Islamic theological traditions, religious doctrines, contemporary theological debates, and their implications for society.

  • Islamic Philosophy: Islamic philosophical thought, epistemology, ethics, metaphysics, and contemporary philosophical approaches to Islamic intellectual traditions.

  • Sufism and Islamic Spirituality: Sufi traditions, spiritual development, Islamic ethics, and the relevance of spirituality to individual and community life.

  • Islamic Thought and Contemporary Issues: Contemporary Muslim intellectual movements, religious moderation, Islam and modernity, social transformation, and the interaction between Islamic thought and global challenges.

  • Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies: Research integrating management, education, law, economics, philosophy, theology, and other disciplines within Islamic perspectives.

JMPI welcomes interdisciplinary contributions that demonstrate clear scholarly relevance to its scope, employ appropriate research methods, and offer meaningful theoretical, empirical, or practical contributions to the advancement of management, education, law, and Islamic thought.
